Complete calendar app redesign that increased downloads and revenue. Rebuilt from structure to UI, including icon design. Created a collaborative system enabling artists to launch calendar themes and stickers through a streamlined CSV-based workflow.

Goal and Objectives
Transform an outdated calendar app with structural problems into something modern and scalable. The design needed contemporary aesthetics with the organized clarity of good document design. This required complete rebuilding: new information architecture, component system, and intuitive text handling while accommodating stickers and themes. The goal was unifying everything into a simple system that felt like premium productivity software, not just another mobile calendar.
Challenge
Every project has it’s own key-stone.The breakthrough came from studying physical behavior, not digital competitors. I visited stationery shops to observe how people chose diaries and decorative items, and interviewed them about paper versus digital calendars. The insight: decoration and personalization matter deeply to calendar users, but most apps treat these as afterthoughts. This shifted the entire approach. I rebuilt the design system around supporting heavy customization — stickers, themes, visual personalization — while maintaining structure and functionality. The visual direction, component library, and interaction patterns all emerged from this core understanding of what people actually want from their calendar.

Outside artists couldn't contribute themes with the original system. I solved this by creating a simplified workflow: CSV templates, guide documentation, and package files. The new system enabled external collaboration and increased submissions by 300%.
